STATE JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVES 2014

South Fremantle had 5 students representing their State in the National Championships this January, from all 3 levels (U14,U16, U18).

U14's-
Jett Wright was in the Heat (Red) team, who were crowned NATIONAL CHAMPIONS, after beating Victoria in the Grand Final. Well done to Jett, who had a particularly good tournament hitting .423, not allowing a Run in three innings pitched and closing out the Grand Final!

Well done to Todd Hatcher who joins the program in year 8 this year. Todd was a first year player and had a great experience with the development Heat (Black) team. Todd played with the SFSHS junior team during our Tournament last year.

U16's-
Josh Rawlinson was a member of the Heat team, which finished in 3rd place this year. The team dominated the pool round of the tournament but unfortunately lost two key games in the playoffs and had to settle for a 3rd place position as they  beat Victoria in the Bronze medal game. Josh had a solid tournament, playing third base hitting .321 and  throwing 8.2 innings (2nd most in the team). Well done.

U18's-
Sam Kennelly and Alex Oehme both represented the Heat team and were very influential in bringing home the Silver Medal. After a tough morning loss to Victoria in the playoffs the team bounced back to beat the favourites QLD in the afternoon, setting up a do-or-die semi final with NSW. Alex Oehme started the game and threw 5 innings as the WA boys took an early lead and held on late for the victory. Unfortunately they went on to lose the final to QLD 3-1, but were only a hit away from winning in the 9th inning. Sam Kennelly led the team in RBI's and Alex had three good pitching performances.

A massive congratulations to all these boys on their success in the National Championships, but also the way they handled themselves both on and off the playing field.
