Games vs Darling Range

South Fremantle took on the Darling Ranges Sports College in a double header last Wednesday the 12th of November at Baseball Park.
Game one was a very high standard of Baseball with the game going 7 innings, showing that the boys threw strikes and caught the ball in the field. South Fremantle had great pitching from Zane Travinor, Blair Morris and Rahari Ike. A big 2RBI triple in the 6th inning was the difference in the game from Caige Kazmierowski, as South Freo narrowly defeated DRSC 6-4.
In game 2, South Freo took an early lead 4-0 and looked good against the  Darling Range year 9 team, but that was short lived. Some walks and solid hitting in the 2nd inning saw DRSC score 7 runs as our pitchers struggled to take command of the strike zone. The game stayed fairly even for the remainder of the game and was a great experience for our young group of year 8's.

The students were very lucky to have Matthew KENNELLY ( Perth Heat, AA Atlanta Braves) and brother Sam KENNELLY (Perth Heat, Pittsburgh Pirates) with us for the games. Mat and Sam are both ex-graduates of the baseball program and extremely talented players with a wealth of baseball knowledge. Students when not playing in the games were getting valuable instructional time with the professionals, and Mat and Sam both floated around during the games to help with advice.
It was a great day for the students all round!!!
